
Prime minister and leader of the PTI:
Unofficial results show that Imran Khan, the former prime minister and leader of the PTI, defeated Maulana Mohammad Qasim, the PDM candidate, to win the NA-22 Mardan-III by-election on Sunday with 76,681 votes.
As PDM lost another National Assembly seat to the PTI, which has ruled Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since 2013, Qasim of the JUI-F received 68,181 votes.
For NA-22 Mardan-III, there were four candidates:
Imran Khan was competing against PDM's Qasim from JUI-F, Abdul Wasey of JI, and independent candidate Mohammad Sarwar for the NA-22 Mardan-III seat, which was left open by PTI member Ali Mohammad Khan.
