In Pattinson's The Batman, Keoghan played the renowned role of The Joker. The Dunkirk actor admitted that his Joker is "a bit charming and a bit heartbroken" based on his own experience. I wanted some form of human in there, he remarked, hiding behind the cosmetics. "I want people to connect with him... to be aware that this is a front he presents. The actor said, "He went on to characterize him as just "a broken-down youngster."

Although Keoghan just played a cameo in The Batman, critics praised his portrayal. The 29-year-old said that he just made a list of the top on-screen comedians. He answered, "There were seven, and I was number four." "Ladies, four minutes on the screen isn't awful, eh?"The Batman sequel hasn't been officially announced yet, though. The movie is allegedly in development but is still "years distant."
